Kids Coordinator Location: Central Austin Reports to: Location Pastor (CA) Summary of Role Coordinate the operations, logistics, and Dream Team for the Celebration Kids ministry (birth to 5th grade) at the Central Austin campus location Position Status & Schedule Non-Exempt, Hourly Part-time (20 hours per week, max of 25) Sunday through Thursday; will include evenings and weekends Christmas, Easter, Pursuit Weeks (January/August), and Dream Team Appreciation service dates and times are blackout days for time off. Celebration Kids Camp is a required event for this role. Other events may be required outside of your regular schedule; you will be informed in advance of any requirements. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Leadership Create and promote a culture of creativity, excellence, order, and safety throughout Kids ministry classrooms and spaces Consistently communicate the vision of Celebration Church and Celebration Kids to Dream Team Develop positive relationships with children and families, including connecting with first-time guest visitors and maintaining relationships with attendee families Be a visible presence for weekend services and assigned events Main point of contact for the Dream Team for weekend services Communicate Kids ministry status to Location Pastor and Kids Pastor Collaborate with the Kids Pastor/Team to ensure alignment and consistency throughout Celebration Kids Attend central Kids department meetings and campus staff meetings Coordinator Maintain excellent, high-energy environments throughout the Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary areas Ensure Kids ministry policies compliance, including running workflow processes for background checks, posting in-room processes, updating safety procedures, and conducting trainings Ensure Kids spaces are in excellent condition by submitting maintenance requests, reserving spaces, etc. Responsible for Kids Ministry logistics and execution at the campus level for campus-specific events, interest gatherings, or launch activities (as applicable for stage of campus) Coordinate the set up and tear down of Kids spaces at campus location(s) Arrive early to prepare rooms and stay afterwards to clean/reset/pack up classrooms and spaces Maintain inventories of campus toys and supplies Be in classroom to cover gaps in Dream Team schedules as needed Collaborate with the Kids Staff Team on needs for weekend services or events Work with Kids Administrator to order supplies for the campus Contribute to the overall success of Celebration Church by performing all other duties as needed Dream Team Roster and schedule Kids Dream Team; identify solutions for coverage gaps for services and events Resource Dream Team leads with information related to church standards, policy and procedures Maintain a healthy Dream Team culture, ensuring Kids DT members are supported and cared for Honor, respect, and interact with all Dream Team members in a positive and life-giving way Onboard new Dream Team members per the onboarding process Maintain accurate Dream Team lists within the church contact database Financial Utilize purchasing processes for approval, ordering, and payment of services and items needed at campus Assist with budget updates, ensuring resources are being stewarded wisely in your area(s) of responsibility Enter expenses into applicable systems and maintain up-to-date expense reports Requirements Mature Christian who calls Celebration Church home and supports the Church’s culture, vision, and values Unwavering commitment to place Christ first in all you do Desire to ensure people are known, loved, and celebrated Continually seeking growth with Christ and encouraging others to do the same Passion for excellence, always looking to improve Deep understanding of the value in being part of a family that is unified for a greater cause Must have completed all steps of Connection Point within 60 days of hire Complete all Kids Ministry trainings, including child abuse training Competencies A passion for children and their families to be connected and thrive at the local church Effective leader who can inspire others to work together to achieve organizational excellence Maturity and compassion with others in dealing with spiritual issues among children, families, and parents Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Natural ability to relate well to parents, children, and volunteers (Dream Team) Ability to focus within a collaborative, energy-filled, fast-paced team environment Proficiency in macOS, Microsoft Office Suite, and database/contact management software Willingness to work occasionally outside normal business hours Must complete all Kids ministry trainings prior to being in-classroom Education & Experience Minimum 2 years of ministry or child-focused experience Experience serving on or leading a Celebration Dream Team (or church of similar format/size) preferred Work Environment & Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must be able to move about inside the office and around the Church facility. Must be able to position self to maintain supplies and equipment on lower shelves and in closets.
