About The Position

The Kids’ Clubhouse is an important part of WAC and the community. Our main goal is to offer our members’ children a safe, clean and friendly environment while they enjoy their workout. As the Kids’ Clubhouse Team Lead, you are responsible for all aspects of the Kids’ Clubhouse. You ensure that all Kids’ Clubhouse Team Members provide quality care, keep children safe, interact with families and make sure everyone feels a sense of belonging. You must enjoy working with children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. You help your team facilitate activities, story time, snack time, diaper changing, bottle feeding and cleaning tasks. This is not a behind the scenes position – you are on the front-line having fun and connecting with families via aggressive hospitality. Responsibilities

  • Display a member-first attitude by not only being raving fans of WAC, but also for creating raving fans; we are all responsible for attracting and retaining members.
  • Be what you want to see – live the mission and core behaviors of WAC.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to Team Members to take action and to achieve operational goals.
  • Constantly recruit and train Team Members, encouraging them to develop personally and professionally.
  • Identify, communicate and delegate appropriate responsibilities to Team Members to ensure smooth Kids’ Clubhouse operations – this starts with the daily walk-through.
  • Team Building
  • Build and mentor a winning Kids’ Club team.
  • Pick the best people – lead Kids’ Club recruiting efforts.
  • Paint a picture and show Team Members a path – inspire the best to exceed their potential at WAC.
  • Provide great training – Actively learn, apply and share with your team.
  • Give Team Members regular feedback and ask great questions.
  • Catch people doing things right and hand out WAC Bucks.
  • Planning & Execution
  • Lead annual reviews of Kids’ Clubhouse Team Members.
  • Create annual calendar for teams, which include events, meetings and ongoing training.
  • Develop and manage monthly schedules to ensure club is properly staffed during peak and non-peak times.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately by utilizing every major form of communication.
  • Be available.
  • Responsible for everything in the Kids’ Clubhouse department.
  • Daily Operations
  • Execute a daily walk-through of the Kids’ Clubhouse to ensure proper conditions.
  • Encourage member rapport by being visible and interacting regularly with families.
  • Attend all Leadership Meetings.
  • Conduct Kids’ Clubhouse meetings.
  • Communicate effectively through a variety of mediums.
  • Send regular WAC Connections announcements.
  • Be available for communication during all hours.
  • When necessary, designate an assistant or MOD.
  • Follow up on all “Contact Us,” suggestion box and social media communication.
  • Create department-specific annual calendar and integrate it with the annual planning guide.
  • Talk to the Service Manager daily about staffing needs, upcoming events and other important priorities.
  • Team
  • Actively recruit, interview, hire, train and develop Kids’ Clubhouse Team Members.
  • Responsible for all disciplinary actions, including possible dismissal.
  • Conduct Wow Training for all new-hires in the Kids’ Clubhouse.
  • Ensure 90-day and ongoing Team Member evaluations.
  • Make recommendations for Team Member compensation increases.
  • Create and update the monthly Kids’ Clubhouse schedule.
  • Pursue ongoing personal and professional development and share what you learn with others.
  • Implement all Team Member policies and procedures.
  • Work a variety of hours to build solid relationship with Team Members and catch people doing things right.
  • Safety
  • Know and teach the Safety Plan and Emergency Action Plan.
  • Manage all inside and outside areas of the Kids’ Clubhouse.
  • Inspect for cleanliness and safety.
  • Report all structural problems to the Maintenance department, General Manager or MOD.
  • Follow all incident report and month end procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with cleaning crew.
  • Financial
  • Monitor Kids’ Clubhouse staffing levels and budget with Service Manager and General Manager.
  • Regulate number of hours worked in the Kids’ Clubhouse with respect to the Affordable Care Act.
  • Audit Kids’ Club payroll twice a month.
  • Regulate number of hours worked with respect to the Affordable Care Act.
  • Responsible for inventory of snacks, supplies and toys.
  • Income Generation
  • Teach Team Members how to promote programs, activities and events to families.
  • Train how to up-serve or recommend programs and events that members might be interested in at point of sale.
  • Participate in community organizations and positive social media to actively promote club.
  • Programming
  • Plan, staff and facilitate special Kids’ Clubhouse programs and events.
  • Follow the program development process for all Kids’ Clubhouse programs and events.
  • Act as a liaison between all departments to ensure communication and participation of upcoming programs.
  • Promote activities and events to the families.
  • New Member Integration & Retention
  • Welcome and connect with all Team Members.
  • Integrate new families into the club via programs and activities.
  • Be personally committed to fitness by actively going through the retention program sessions.
