About The Position

The Kids Club counselor will plan activities and play with Kids Club participants while in the program. Provide direct care for children 6 weeks to 12 years in our Kids Club Room.

Requirements

16 years old
Ability to provide proof of current CPR and First Aid Certification
Experience working with children
Ability to work cooperatively with youth, parents, staff
Joy and satisfaction in working with children
Ability to work with general supervision.
Background check cannot contain offenses restricted by state law

Responsibilities

Arrive to work dressed properly with appropriate uniform and name tag
Clock in and out accurately and submit hours at the end of the time period
Ensure health and safety of each participant
Greet parents and participants in a friendly and professional manner
Plan, conduct, and participate in activities with participants
Clean club room, equipment, & supplies daily as needed
Assist toilet trained participants with bathroom duties
Notify parents with child’s diaper is soiled or change diaper if authorized.
DO NOT release child to any person other than the person that dropped the child off
Check staff schedule for accuracy
Clean room and remove any unsafe items
Promote all Kenosha YMCA programs and direct questions to appropriate people
Notify supervisor when supplies are low or needed
Notify supervisor when maintenance is needed
