About The Position

The Class Coach at TOCA Soccer Training Facility is responsible for teaching soccer skills to children aged 18 months to 7 years in a fun and safe environment. This part-time role focuses on fostering a love for the game, promoting sportsmanship, and enhancing children's sports and social skills through structured classes. The coach will engage with young athletes, ensuring their safety and encouraging their development while maintaining effective communication with parents.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and experience playing or coaching soccer.
  • Experience working with children in a sports or educational setting, demonstrating patience and the ability to motivate young athletes.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and fellow coaching staff.
  • Passion for creating an inviting and welcoming environment that aligns with TOCA Soccer Training's values.
  • Genuine interest in soccer and a desire to share this enthusiasm with young players.
  • Availability to work afternoons and weekends, as most youth soccer classes take place during these times.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, and stand for long durations of time.
  • Ability to move and lift equipment and supplies of 30+ pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • College level club soccer playing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach energetic and engaging soccer class sessions to children aged 18 months to 7 years following TOCA Kids curriculum.
  • Assist players in improving their soccer skills through progressive drills and exercises tailored to their skill level.
  • Organize and lead age-appropriate soccer activities to apply the skills learned during classes.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants by following safety guidelines and monitoring for injuries.
  • Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere, fostering a love for the sport while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with parents, providing updates on players' progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining the kids classes field space and equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks, including attendance records and evaluations.
