About The Position

The Kid Zone Team Member is responsible for providing a safe and engaging environment for children while their parents enjoy fitness activities. This role involves supervising children, organizing recreational activities, and ensuring adherence to safety policies. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a supportive atmosphere for both children and their parents.

Requirements

• Pre-school or day care experience desired
• Flexible/positive attitude in meeting and exceeding member expectations
• Patience and creative energy to work with children
• High tolerance for childhood behaviors
• Physical stamina to care for groups of energetic young children
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
• Willing and able to work a flexible shift: evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Bilingual skills a plus
• Current CPR certification or ability to pass within 60 days of hire date
• Must be Trustline registered; In-Shape will facilitate this upon acceptance of offer of employment

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment through correct implementation of safety policies and procedures
• Observe and monitor the activities of all children in the Kids Zone
• Organize and participate in recreational activities, as appropriate
• Read to children, teach simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs
• Engage children in activities that promote healthy habits
• Follow and adhere to the In-Shape Clean Approach
• Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas
• Support social development and encourage positive self-concepts in children
• Ensure only authorized personnel enter the Kids Zone area
• Ensure all policies and procedures of the Kids Zone are followed by staff, children, and parent/members
• Resolve concerns/problems ensuring member needs are met and company guidelines are followed
• Assist in building the In-Shape community of members through a consistent member experience
• Attend In-Shape team meetings and trainings as required
• Assist in other areas of the club when needed
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
