About The Position

The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individuals for part-time Kid Zone Staff positions. The Kid Zone Staff will help support a well‑supervised, dynamic space for all participants, promoting an atmosphere where every child feels welcomed, included, and supported. This staff member will thrive in a fast-paced childcare environment while maintaining a high level of care, attentiveness, and positive engagement.

Requirements

Minimum Age: 16 years with valid work permit.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).

Nice To Haves

Preferred 2 years work experience with children ages 6 weeks to 11 years old.
Experience in customer service preferred.

Prioritize Safety: Maintain a healthy, secure environment through active supervision, safety checks, and proper response to incidents and emergencies.
Inspire Positive Engagement: Lead developmentally appropriate activities, follow daily schedules, and promote positive behavior that enriches each child’s visit.
Build Positive Connections: Provide welcoming, responsive service to families, encourage participation in Y programs, and contribute to a professional, collaborative team culture.
