About The Position

OUR MISSION Brookside Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is a Jesus-centered church committed to building Jesus-centered homes through healthy relationships resulting in Gospel-saturated communities. VISION & PURPOSE OF ROLE The KidMin Staff Intern supports the Kids Ministry team through hands-on involvement in Sunday morning services and weekly programming. This role provides administrative and operational support while offering the intern a meaningful opportunity to develop leadership skills, serve children and families, and explore a calling to ministry in a nurturing, team-driven environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• A desire to pursue ministry and a heart for teaching and training children
• Demonstrated administrative ability and organizational skills
• Ability to pass a background check (required for all children’s ministry staff)
• Acknowledge Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior
• Demonstrate emotional maturity and godliness, growing in conformity to the image of Christ
• Agreement of the Brookside Church Statement of Faith
• Commitment to Brookside Church Staff Codes (Addendum A)
• Exhibits a heart of compassion, is trustworthy, and is a humble servant leader
• Maintains a healthy balance between ministry and family

Responsibilities

• Provide general administrative support to the KidMin team and volunteers
• Assist with weekly preparation tasks including curriculum materials and room setup
• Provide direct KidMin support during Sunday morning services
• Attend weekly KidMin meetings or staff meetings as assigned
• Train and serve in various KidMin roles (lead teacher, classroom assistant, new family check-in, coach)
• Assist with VBS preparation and organization
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall KidMin mission
