About The Position
MasterWord Services is seeking native Khmer/Cambodian speakers fluent in both Khmer and English to serve as in-person interpreters across the Houston and League City, TX area. You'll be the essential bridge between non-English speaking community members and the professionals who serve them — in healthcare, education, social services, legal settings, and more.
Requirements
- Native fluency in Khmer/Cambodian — required
- Full professional fluency in English
- Must reside in the greater Houston, TX region — all assignments are in-person
- Experience helping others communicate across a language barrier (formal or informal)
- Associate's degree or equivalent preferred; OR 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Reliable transportation to travel to assignment locations
Nice To Haves
- Prior interpretation experience in healthcare, education, legal, or social services
- Familiarity with terminology in medical, legal, or educational contexts in both languages
- Interpretation certification (e.g., CCHI, CMI) a plus — not required
