About The Position

The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission's Keystone Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in public history. Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university during the internship.
  • Ability to report to Harrisburg, PA during the internship period.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in digitizing various formats of Archives collections.
  • Describe digitized files and create metadata for audio-visual items.
  • Complete scanning for ongoing projects, such as the American Guide series.
  • Review scans for quality and complete item-level description metadata spreadsheets.
  • Shadow an Archivist and participate in the full lifecycle of a digital record.
