This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that’s constantly evolving. Main responsibilities: [Hiring team to provide specific responsibilities here. [Target 5 – 10 max main responsibilities] Champion company and division customer service programs and resolve customer concerns positively. Perform ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising duties across Grocery (including Frozen, Dairy, Liquor/Beer). Assist the Grocery Manager with planning, organizing, and directing daily operations and implementing merchandising policies. Act as a backup checker, including using suggestive selling and other sales techniques. Oversee cash-handling accuracy, including proper accounting of sales, register tape maintenance, and money pickup from check stands. Prepare work assignments for night stockers, manage discontinued items, and implement price changes. Control shrink and ensure out‑of‑code products are not sold. Open and close the store and supervise employees when Store Director and Grocery Manager are not present. Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, security, and company policies; implement emergency procedures when needed. Perform Receiving Clerk duties when necessary and complete other assigned responsibilities. Customer‑focused service skills and problem resolution. Strong operational execution, including planning, reporting, and scheduling. Sound decision‑making and ability to react to business demands. Compliance knowledge related to company policies, safety, and regulations. Knowledge : Understanding of retail operations, company policies, and procedures. Knowledge of employment laws and workplace standards. Familiarity with product types, product placement, perishability, weights, and measures. Knowledge of check stand scanning, loss prevention procedures, and front‑end register operations. Understanding of ordering equipment and emergency procedures. Abilities : Ability to stand and walk for long periods. Ability to lift, stack, and maneuver objects up to 80 lbs and climb ladders. Ability to operate hand trucks, six‑wheel carts, pallet jacks, and similar equipment safely. Strong manual dexterity, coordination, and mental alertness. Ability to work various schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
