About The Position

The Key Holder assists store management in the efficient operation of the retail store; leads retail store staff as assigned in the absence of store management.   Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities: Key Holder assists in providing and maintaining a safe environment for customers and employees on the sales floor and production area. Opens, closes consults with Store Manager, District Manager/ASD and Director of Stores when necessary. Maintains excellent customer service and employee relations. Reconciles receipts, currency and production reports. Utilizes spreadsheets to complete reports, communicates via email and keeps up to date with processes and procedures. Assigns specific duties to store associates and follows up on progress. Maintains excellent housekeeping standards. Attends all required management training courses and skill development training classes. Able to lift, carry, push and pull at least 50 lbs. Works flexible shifts and overtime when needed. Performs necessary janitorial work. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Performs limited supervisory duties in the absence of store management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or its equivalent, preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year retail experience required.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Demonstrated maturity and leadership skills in leading entry-level employees.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, self-starter a plus.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Proficient and basic knowledge of computer programs in a Windows® environment including Word, Excel and email.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Free from alcohol and drug abuse.
  • Understands the basic philosophy of Goodwill and participates fully in carrying out its mission.
