The Key Carrier role at Marshalls is an elevated extension of the Coordinator role. Key Carriers primarily perform the duties of a Coordinator but occasionally act as a Key Carrier, taking on a leadership role in maintaining all aspects of the store. This role requires open availability, including nights and weekends, and involves role modeling exceptional customer service. Key Carriers are expected to create a positive internal and external customer experience, promote honesty and integrity, and maintain confidentiality. They act as Manager on Duty, ensuring tasks are performed according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed, and addressing customer service issues with appropriate coaching for Associates. They also exercise discretion regarding customer service policies to satisfy customers, ensure accurate Associate coverage, and adhere to all operational and opening/closing procedures. Effective communication with management and Associates, providing and accepting feedback, and partnering on training needs are also key aspects. The role also involves ensuring adherence to labor laws, promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting shrink reduction goals, and maintaining a safe environment.
