The Key Account Manager (Sales & Business Development) is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of strategic customers across Industrial and Aerospace & Defense (A&D) markets. This role balances disciplined account stewardship with proactive business development, driving run-rate revenue while identifying new growth and synergy opportunities across the IDEX–Mott platform. Success in this role requires strong commercial judgment, technical aptitude, and the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration to deliver customer satisfaction and sustainable growth. Reporting Relationship: Reports to Senior Director of Sales & Business Development, Industrial & A&D Business Units Segment Focus: Industrial / ATA Accounts Own and execute run-rate business performance Drive new growth and identify whitespace opportunities Actively pursue IDEX–Mott synergy opportunities Aerospace & Defense Accounts Own and execute run-rate business Identify and develop business development opportunities Ensure customer satisfaction, delivery performance, and revenue stability across existing programs

Requirements

  • 7–12+ years of experience in technical sales, key account management, or business development within Industrial, Aerospace, Defense, or advanced manufacturing environments
  • Proven ability to drive growth in industrial markets and manage complex, long-cycle customer relationships
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to engage technical, operational, and executive stakeholders
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Office
  • Technical aptitude to understand Mott products and applications
  • Pricing and price-list fluency
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret business data
  • Driven, self-motivated, and results-oriented
  • Professional, pleasant, and constructive communicator

  • Highly organized, adaptable, and effective in dynamic environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multi-business or platform organizations preferred
  • Familiarity with engineered components, filtration, fluid control, precision manufacturing, or advanced materials preferred
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on inventory, shipping, and vendor management

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building trusted, long-term customer relationships
  • Identify, develop, and convert new growth opportunities into funded programs, prototype work, and production awards
  • Manage run-rate revenue including order flow, forecasting accuracy, pricing, commercial terms, and ongoing customer communication
  • Proactively coordinate IDEX–Mott synergy opportunities with sister companies
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure reliable delivery, issue resolution, and program continuity
  • Represent the voice of the customer while aligning internal priorities with strategic and operational constraints
