About The Position

Kento Operator (Digital & Flexo Press) Location: Fond du Lac, WI (Sullivan Facility) Reports To: Sullivan Plant Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: Full-Time | Shift flexibility required based on production needs Join Quality Packaging, Inc. We are seeking a skilled Kento Operator to support our production team by operating digital and flexographic printing equipment with precision and efficiency. Position Summary The Kento Operator is responsible for setting up and operating digital and flexographic (flexo) presses to produce high-quality printed packaging materials. This role plays a critical part in ensuring print accuracy, minimizing downtime, and maintaining production efficiency while meeting customer specifications.

Requirements

  • Experience operating digital and/or flexographic printing presses preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of print quality standards, color control, and registration
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets and technical specifications
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent use of hands for operating and adjusting machinery
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong visual acuity, including color differentiation and close vision
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a production setting

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training in printing technology or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Kento digital printing equipment according to job specifications
  • Set up, run, and monitor flexographic (flexo) printing presses
  • Review job tickets and production schedules for accuracy and readiness
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain print quality, color accuracy, and registration
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of printing equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and print quality issues; escalate as needed
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with customer and quality standards
  • Accurately track production metrics including output, waste, and downtime
  • Properly handle inks, plates, substrates, and related materials
  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and housekeeping standards
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and team members
  • Assist with press changeovers and material staging
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Train and support new operators as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
