The Environmental Services role at Kennestone Hospital is critical for maintaining cleanliness and safety within the facility. This position involves a variety of cleaning tasks, including regular, terminal, and isolation cleaning, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires strong customer service skills as it involves interaction with patients, families, and staff members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
  • Completion of the Departmental Training Program within the first 30 days of employment.

  • Some experience in a similar role is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full range of restroom and patient room cleaning following established protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols and select appropriate cleaning chemicals.
  • Conduct routine cleaning tasks including maintenance of walls, doors, glass, furniture, and floors.
  • Properly remove and manage waste according to guidelines for solid, bio-hazard, and chemotherapy waste.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and follow safety protocols during cleaning tasks.
  • Exhibit positive customer service skills when interacting with staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Document daily assignments and adjust to staff shortages as needed.
  • Use the Epic system to maintain the flow of beds and patients.
