About The Position
Westchester Animal Hospital is seeking a Kennel Technician / Animal Care Attendant to join our team in High Point, NC. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a critical role in patient comfort, cleanliness, and daily care , while supporting our medical team and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pets and their families. For over 50 years, Westchester Animal Hospital has provided high-quality, compassionate care to pets across High Point and the surrounding Triad communities. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Passion for animal care and comfort working hands-on with pets
- Ability to perform physically active work (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, walking)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to support cleaning and facility upkeep
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in: Kennel work
- Animal boarding/daycare
- Veterinary or animal care settings
- Comfort working with dogs, cats, and small mammals/exotics
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for boarding and hospitalized pets, including: Feeding, walking, and monitoring appetite and behavior
- Cleaning and maintaining kennels and enclosures
- Bathing pets and supporting basic grooming needs
- Monitor patient comfort, behavior, and overall well-being and report concerns to the medical team
- Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, and small mammals/exotic pets
- Perform deep cleaning and sanitation of: Kennels, treatment areas, and exam rooms
- Laundry and bedding
- Outdoor play yards and common areas
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional hospital environment at all times
- Assist with client communication during boarding drop-off and discharge
- Provide basic education to pet owners regarding: Boarding stay updates
- Feeding instructions and routine care
- Ensure a positive, friendly, and professional client experience
