About The Position

Strawberry Hill Groom and Board is seeking a dedicated and experienced Kennel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kennel facility. The Kennel Manager will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all animals in our care, as well as managing a team of kennel staff to deliver exceptional service to our clients. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for animal welfare, and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization within the kennel environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in animal care and handling, with preference given to candidates with previous kennel management experience.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and communicate with clients.
  • Knowledge of animal behavior, health, and nutrition, with the ability to recognize signs of illness or distress.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to ensure 7 days/week care coverage.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage administrative tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the care and handling of all animals, including feeding, grooming, exercise, and administering medications as needed.
  • Ensure all animals are kept in a clean and safe environment, maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene protocols.
  • Train and schedule kennel staff, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are performed efficiently and effectively.
  • Interact with clients to address inquiries, schedule appointments, invoice services, process payments, and ensure customer satisfaction with our services.
  • Oversee maintenance of kennel facilities and equipment, coordinating repairs and improvements as necessary.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of supplies, including food, medications, shampoos, and cleaning materials.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to animal care and kennel operations.
  • Handle emergencies and medical situations involving animals, following established protocols and seeking veterinary assistance when necessary.
