As an integral member of the LA Feline Programs team, the Kennel Attendant supports a program that provides care for approximately 1,500 kittens and cats annually. Who We Are In collaboration with the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care & Control, the ASPCA LA Feline Programs provides temporary care and adoption opportunities for at-risk feline populations that might not find positive outcomes in a shelter environment. These populations include: Orphaned neonates under 4 weeks old Underage, orphaned kittens aged 4-8 weeks (our primary population) Queens in need of a stress-free environment to raise their young Juvenile and adult cats needing extra support finding adoption opportunities while recovering from illness or after extended stays in a shelter environment What You’ll Do The Kennel Attendant provides attentive hands-on care for all cats and kittens during their stay at the ASPCA Way Station until they are transferred to adoption partners or other foster homes. Primary responsibilities include daily feeding, cleaning, litter box maintenance, laundry, enrichment, and daily health and behavior monitoring. The Kennel Attendant will also be responsible for deep cleaning kennels and shared spaces, as well as inventory and supply restocking weekly. The Kennel Attendant reports directly to the Manager, Animal Placement & Logistics, and has no direct reports. Where and When You’ll Work This position is an on-site role and reports to the ASPCA Way Station in Burbank, CA. ASPCA Way Station operations will be moving to a new location in 2026. This position will then report to the ASPCA Way Station in Carson, CA in early summer 2026. This position is a seasonal position from March through November. The schedule is four days a week Tuesday – Friday. Schedules are subject to change as needed by the ASPCA What You’ll Get Compensation Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.
