About The Position
The position involves teaching swimming lessons to individuals of all ages, ensuring that participants are instructed and monitored effectively. The role also includes lifeguarding duties during swim classes, pool parties, and public swim times. The instructor is responsible for implementing YMCA practices that guarantee the safety and quality of all swimming lessons, and must assist in evaluating all participants to maintain program quality. Quick decision-making and assertiveness in enforcing rules and regulations are essential. The instructor must also maintain a high level of physical and mental readiness and possess effective verbal communication skills to address both large and small groups of members.
