About The Position

CUMULUS MEDIA | Kansas City is in search of a hard-working Part-Time KCMO-FM morning show Intern. If you are looking to get a foot in the door to the radio industry, have an outgoing personality and have a passion for radio, this is a great opportunity for you! This internship will focus mainly around the KCMO-FM morning show with Mike & Mackenzie assisting in audio podcast production, audio curation, video creation, and assisting with the promotions department when needed. In addition, at times duties will include going out into the community, interacting with listeners, gathering audio, and promoting our stations. This is a paid Internship for currently enrolled college/university students. The KCMO-FM intern will assist the “Mike & Mackenzie Morning show” primarily with podcast production along with various social media video & audio needs. At times, assisting with promotional needs may be required. This includes set-up and breakdown of pop-up tents and tables, hanging banners, interacting with listeners, and registering people to win prizes. To join the team, you must be able to lift 50 pounds, and must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time. This intern, while not required (as training will be provided) should have a working knowledge of DAW (Digital Audio Workstations) and ideally video editor software. This Intern will have the opportunity to work closely with the morning show in KCMO_FM, the Cumulus Kansas City production department and assist with basic duties as needed. Requirements

• No experience necessary, however Customer Service experience helpful
• Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the station for designated shifts
• Reliable; have a flexible schedule and be available to work at least 10 hours per week, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
• May require lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Outgoing, energetic, detail-oriented and responsible
• Proficient using computers and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Multi-tasking abilities
• Strong Social Media skills with sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

Nice To Haves

• Photoshop and graphics experience a plus
• Radio/Audio and Video Production experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily podcast production and upload for the Mike & Mackenzie Morning show
• Assist with daily teasers & promotional elements directly related to the KCMO-FM morning show
• When required, execute proper technical and physical set-up and breakdown of remote broadcasts and station events; ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the fly
• Represent stations at events in an upbeat, outgoing and friendly manner
• Assist in creation of social media & website posts; review promotional info and graphics
• Assisting the Promotions and Marketing Department with projects as needed in the office
