Requirements

Earned Master's degree required, in nursing.
BSN degree in nursing.
Must hold an BSN and MS earned from an approved and accredited institution and nursing program.
If faculty is not a nurse, see college education requirements.
Current, valid, unencumbered and unrestricted Ohio RN license.
At least 2 years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse required.
If faculty is not a nurse, licensure is not required.
Membership in appropriate professional organizations is considered a necessary element of this position.

Facilitates communication between the preceptor, student, and instructor.
Provides the preceptor with orientation information regarding the program of study and roles of the student, preceptor, and instructor.
Is available to the preceptor and student for assistance and clarification through rounds, phone, or pager.
Functions as a resource in any issues surrounding the professional development of the student.
Objectively and subjectively evaluates the student's performance, incorporating feedback from the preceptor.
