About The Position

The Team Leader is responsible for the daily implementation of programming for the Kids Adventure Time program in Yates County. This role ensures the smooth operation of the program, which runs for six weeks 4 days during the summer starting in July, with the option to return the last three Fridays in October.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required. Some college preferred.
  • Valid NY State Driver License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Experience working with at risk youth either through employment or volunteer experience preferred. Relevant years of experience and education will be considered
  • Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to, those governing confidentiality, privacy, program, billing and documentation standards. All duties must be performed in accordance with CCDR’s corporate compliance and ethics program.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, plan, and complete work projects with minimal direction
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to effectively and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal/written skills
  • Possession a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier.
  • Continuous use of a reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
  • Ability to work in the following software programs: Windows, Microsoft Office, and multiple online software platforms as required by funders and partner organizations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviors and attitudes which support organizational mission, philosophy, and policies
  • Ability to work in a cooperative and helpful manner with all individuals
  • Willingness and ability to foster agency and program wide cooperation and teamwork through use of positive/constructive communication techniques
  • Provide effective, equitable, understandable and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred languages, health literacy and other communication needs.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in required training sessions focused on child behavior and agency policies.
  • Sets up the site daily, handling end-of-day cleanup, and maintaining the environment.
  • Ensures that youth participate in pre-scheduled activities and arrive on time. Prepare alternative activities in case scheduled ones fall through or additional engagement is needed.
  • Reports any suspected neglect or abuse of enrolled youth to the New York State Hotlines as required by law. Inform supervisor of any concerns you may have.
  • Oversees the youth and manage schedules and keep everyone on task.
  • Addresses and report any environmental safety concerns to the Program Coordinator or Site Supervisor.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.
