About The Position
For 35 years, ACTIVSTARS has specialized in offering youth programs nationwide, emphasizing fun while learning. We are currently hiring in Tucson for the position of a martial arts instructor, specifically for teaching Karate and Taekwondo. This part-time role involves teaching students ranging from beginners to advanced ranks during evening classes. Instructors will have the opportunity to teach their primary martial arts style while adhering to the ACTIVSTARS ATHLETICS curriculum guidelines. Classes are held year-round, and we are seeking committed and dedicated instructors for long-term positions. The responsibilities of the martial arts instructor include preparing for classes, teaching students, overseeing class check-in, maintaining basic records, and promoting tournaments, camps, or clinics. Paid training sessions will be provided to cover our teaching guidelines, record-keeping, and onsite training with a veteran instructor. This position is designed to be one of the most enjoyable part-time jobs, offering great pay and the chance to make a positive impact in children's lives. All applicants must possess a Black Belt in a Traditional Forms-Based Style, and we are looking for instructors who are passionate about teaching and have a solid technical foundation in martial arts. The ideal candidates will have reliable transportation to commute to various class locations and be available to teach on weekday evenings, typically between 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The pay ranges from $15 to $30 per hour, with instructors averaging $300 to $400 per month by teaching just one day a week, with the potential for additional days based on availability.
