About The Position

Planned Parenthood Great Plains has provided access to sexual and reproductive health care since 1935, offering high-quality, expert, and compassionate care through empathetic and supportive staff members. The Kansas Organizing Fellow will be responsible for grassroots efforts to organize, educate, empower, and mobilize supporters to take action in support of PPGP’s and PPGPV’s missions. This includes list-building, outreach, volunteer recruitment, phone banking, canvassing, and digital organizing. Under the guidance of Public Affairs leadership, the Fellow will play a key role in supporting PPGPV’s work as part of a coordinated statewide ballot campaign, specifically focusing on the 2026 Kansas judicial selection amendment and efforts to maintain fair and impartial courts in Kansas. This is a fixed-term position that will conclude on August 31, following the 2026 primary election. Candidates interested in both full-time and part-time work are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, one to three years related experience and/or training in advocacy/organizing work or related area; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, the Internet, and relational databases
  • Commitment to PPGP’s and PPGPV’s missions, purposes, and values
  • Driven, motivated, a self-starter, and able to work productively and effectively with sometimes minimal and remote supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Multi-disciplinary thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to understand new concepts; to translate PPGP’s mission and work to diverse constituencies; and to solve complex problems
  • Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Directly support PPGPV’s work with coordinated statewide ballot campaign efforts
  • Develop and execute grassroots organizing plans for both PPGP and PPGPV, including constituent outreach, on-campus/student organizing and general supporter engagement
  • Maintain/update supporter databases, track organizing activities in order to generate monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Collaborate w/ PPGP’s Health Services and patient advocacy team to develop and engage patient advocacy storytellers
  • Represent PPGP or PPGPV within local progressive coalitions, work with other progressive organizations to achieve cross-movement goals, and at community events
  • Recruit, train and support volunteer leaders and increase supporter list and volunteer base
  • Coordinate and implement PP-sponsored advocacy activities, including rallies and events
  • Regular evening and weekend work is required
