About The Position

The Student Work Study position offers currently enrolled university students part-time employment opportunities that support departmental operations while fostering professional growth and skill development. Student employees may be federally or institutionally funded, with consistent job responsibilities and performance expectations regardless of funding source. This role involves performing a variety of entry-level administrative, operational, customer service, research, or program support duties, depending on departmental needs. It is designed to complement the student's academic experience by promoting workplace readiness, accountability, communication skills, and time management. Student employees are expected to maintain professionalism, confidentiality (where applicable), and compliance with university policies, balancing work responsibilities with academic commitments. Positions are part-time, scheduled around academic coursework, and limited to the maximum allowable weekly hours in accordance with university and funding guidelines.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled university students
  • High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day to day maintenance and responsibilities of the assigned department
  • Perform clerical functions including answering phones, filing, scheduling, and organizing
  • Perform a variety of entry-level administrative, operational, customer service, research, or program support duties
  • Assist with office tasks
  • Support events and programs
  • Provide front-line customer service
  • Perform data entry
  • Perform filing
  • Provide light research assistance
  • Offer technology support
  • Perform other general support functions as assigned
