About The Position

In This Role, You Will empower teachers to strengthen their instructional practice so that all students can discover their potential and pursue excellence—academically, personally, and spiritually. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional collaborator and team player, have a deep understanding of high-quality instruction across content areas, and an ability to build strong coaching relationships with teachers. We are particularly interested in leaders passionate about supporting teacher growth in urban education as part of a high-performing, driven staff. Ideal candidates will also be well versed in effective coaching strategies, adult learning practices, and schoolwide instructional support. Candidates should be organized, detail oriented, and demonstrate expertise in planning, modeling, and analyzing high-quality lessons. As a member of the leadership team, this role will collaborate in supporting the entire school to strengthen school operations, staff culture, and instructional excellence.

Requirements

  • A belief in the ability of every child and a commitment to ensure excellence for each student.
  • Bachelor's Degree, including any other requirements for accreditation, (Master’s degree a plus). State teaching license preferred but not required.
  • Active participation in a Christian church.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking skills, support students’ emotional needs with empathy, contribute as a collaborative team member, and remain flexible during schedule changes or unexpected shifts.
  • Team player committed to the St. Augustine Preparatory mission and model.
  • Lastly and most important, the candidate must demonstrate and possess the highest integrity, and be able to live the values, beliefs, and culture of St. Augustine Prep.

Responsibilities

  • Support and coach teachers in planning and delivering standards-based ELA, math, science, and social studies lessons by co-planning, modeling effective practices, and ensuring high-quality instructional materials are used with fidelity.
  • Guide teachers in analyzing formative and summative assessment data to identify student needs, adjust instruction, and strengthen learning outcomes.
  • Support teachers in developing effective feedback systems and consistent methods for documenting student progress to enhance communication with families and colleagues.
  • Coach teachers in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs, including collaboration with Special Education Teachers to promote inclusive and accessible practices.
  • Promote hands-on, inquiry-based learning by helping teachers design lessons that build critical thinking, creativity, and real-world application of content.
  • Model effective instructional strategies and gradually release responsibility to build teacher capacity and instructional ownership.
  • Support teachers in long-term instructional planning to ensure alignment across units, subjects, and grade-level priorities.
  • Guide teachers in seeking out opportunities to thoughtfully integrate Biblical truth within their lessons.
  • Assist teachers as they weave character education and faith-based values into daily instruction.
  • Help teachers establish and maintain safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environments.
  • Coach teachers in managing classroom behavior consistently and effectively, promoting courage, respect, integrity, and perseverance through strong relationships with students.
  • Model the cultural and spiritual expectations of the school, interacting respectfully and demonstrating God’s love to students, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure regular, effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and needs.
  • Uphold a high level of ethical conduct and safeguard confidentiality related to students and families.
  • Be open to coaching and feedback to continuously improve teaching practices and support positive student outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to implement instruction with fidelity.
  • Collaborate as a team player and proactively offer solutions as challenges arise throughout the school year.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, instructional aides, and support staff to enhance student learning.
  • Work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues, supervisors, students, parents/guardians, and community members, maintaining positive, solution-oriented relationships that foster a strong, inclusive environment for optimal learning.
  • Continuously seek professional growth through building and department meetings/professional development, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars/in-services.
  • Serve as a role model for students by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and positive behavior.
  • Remain open-minded to both leading and participating in professional growth and actively engage in the school community as we continue to grow and evolve over the coming years.
  • Monitor and support students during morning arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal.

  • Collaborate with the school administrative team to support the principal in executing day-to-day leadership responsibilities and advancing school priorities.
