About The Position

Aug Prep is more than a school, it's a community where excellence, faith, and holistic education come together. We’re not only about high standards but also creating a place where people love to grow, learn, and inspire! We currently serve over 2,400 K4-12 students in our ninth year at our South Campus. We are thrilled to launch our North Campus in the 26-27 school year, initially serving about 300 students in grades K4-6 and 9. In This Role, You Will empower students to discover their potential and pursue excellence—academically, personally, and spiritually—through high-quality teaching and authentic care. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional collaborator and team player, have deep Spanish language knowledge and strong proficiency, and demonstrate a commitment to fostering cultural understanding and effective language acquisition across grade levels. We are particularly interested in educators passionate about working in urban education as a part of a high-performing, driven staff. Ideal candidates will also be well versed in strategies to promote metacognitive engagement and be willing to go the extra mile for students. Candidates should be organized, detail oriented, and show expertise in developing lesson plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, including any other requirements for accreditation, (Master’s degree a plus). State teaching license preferred but not required.

• Experience teaching Spanish to multiple age groups, from early childhood through high school.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate language acquisition strategies and cultural instruction.
• Lastly and most important, the candidate must demonstrate and possess the highest integrity, and be able to live the values, beliefs, and culture of St. Augustine Prep.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned Spanish instruction for K4–6th and 9th grade students using high-quality materials, instructional best practices, and a balanced approach to speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
• Foster language acquisition, cultural understanding, and communication skills through engaging, interactive, and immersive lessons that promote authentic use of Spanish.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, providing whole-group, small-group, and individualized support while using academic standards and student data to guide planning and adjust instruction.
• Monitor, assess, and document student learning through formative and summative assessments, using results to track progress, inform instructional decisions, and support improved outcomes.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to align instruction, participate in school-wide initiatives, and contribute to cultural events and celebrations that highlight Spanish language and Hispanic cultures.
• Seek out opportunities to integrate Biblical truth with their lessons.
• Integrate character education and/or faith-based values into daily lessons.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Manage classroom behavior in a consistent and effective manner, promoting courage, respect, integrity, and perseverance through the development and maintenance of positive relationships with students.
• Serve as the cultural and spiritual model for their students, always interacting respectfully and striving to demonstrate God’s love to their students and families.
• Effectively communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, behavior, and needs.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
• Be open to coaching and feedback to continuously improve teaching practices and support positive student outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to implement instruction with fidelity.

• Monitor and support students during morning arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal.

• Travel between the K–8 and high school buildings as needed to provide instruction.
