Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to lead its Kindergarten through Grade 8 music program. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator who inspires a love of music, builds strong foundational skills, and fosters student engagement through dynamic and meaningful instruction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to assess student performance and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to support data-informed instruction
• Demonstrated ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Knowledge of state and federal education regulations, as well as school policies and expectations
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
• Solid understanding of music pedagogy, curriculum design, and instructional best practices
• Ability to design and implement lessons aligned with school-wide goals
• Successful completion of all applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment
• U.S. work authorization required

Responsibilities

• Implement the K–8 music curriculum in alignment with Core Knowledge standards
• Deliver engaging, high-quality music instruction with clear and measurable learning objectives
• Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback through progress reports and report cards
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Specials Department and maintain consistent communication with the Assistant Director
• Establish and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment using the school’s discipline model
• Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director
