About The Position

Job Summary St. Catherine Labouré, a K–8 Catholic parish elementary school, seeks a dynamic, faith‑filled educator with a passion for Catholic education to join our instructional team as a full‑time Music Teacher.

Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic who models and supports the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field required; valid teaching certification preferred.
  • Prior experience teaching elementary or middle‑school music preferred.
  • Proficiency in vocal instruction and basic instrumental pedagogy.
  • Ability to plan engaging, standards‑aligned lessons.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for contributing to the school community.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all Archdiocesan safe‑environment requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality K–8 music instruction aligned with the school’s approved curriculum.
  • Teach core musical concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, listening skills, and foundational music theory.
  • Prepare and direct student performances for concerts, liturgical celebrations, and special school events.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages artistic expression and student growth.
  • Integrate Catholic values and faith‑based themes into instruction when appropriate.
  • Assess student learning through varied methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administration, and parish staff on school activities, Masses, and interdisciplinary projects.
  • Maintain an organized, safe learning space and oversee care of instruments, equipment, and materials.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
  • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school community events.
