About The Position
University Instructors (UI) is seeking dynamic face-to-face elementary and secondary teachers and tutors with a passion for supporting students in secondary math, science or ELA. In this role, under the direction of the University Instructors’ team, and the school district, you will partner with long-term subs and teachers to support secondary math instruction, science instruction or ELA instruction. University Instructors partners with schools to provide students with purposeful learning experiences led by inspirational educators. Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree
- Two years experience providing small and large group instruction in secondary math or ELA
- Be local to the area
Responsibilities
- Engage with students in a friendly and professional manner.
- Know academic standards, grade level, course content, and best instructional practices within secondary math, sceince or ELA.
- Prepare lessons and provide whole group and differentiated small group instruction.
- Respond to student questions in a positive and supportive manner, providing as detailed instructions as needed.
- Work with the students to set and maintain progress goals.
- Participate in relevant professional development and professional learning communities.
- Submit records related to attendance, student progress, and other UI program requirements on time.
- Support with all assigned duties, including lunch, hallway, bus, and other activities when needed.
- Co-plan with assigned teachers and grade-level teams.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
