About The Position

Perry Local Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered K–6 Music Teacher to lead a comprehensive elementary music program. The ideal candidate will foster a love of music, build foundational skills, and create engaging experiences that support the whole child.

Requirements

• Valid Ohio teaching license in Music (K–12 or appropriate grade band)
• Strong knowledge of elementary music pedagogy
• Ability to engage and inspire young learners
• Commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

• Experience directing elementary performances or programs
• Ability to integrate movement, instruments, and technology into instruction
• Willingness to contribute to extracurricular or arts-based opportunities

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-aligned music instruction for grades K–6
• Teach fundamental music concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, and movement
• Lead vocal and performance-based experiences for students
• Organize and direct elementary music programs and performances
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with staff to support school-wide initiatives
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
