Overview of position: The K-4 Special Education & Behavior Support Teacher serves a dual role supporting students with disabilities and providing targeted behavioral and social-emotional interventions for early elementary students. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all district and state special education requirements while delivering high-quality, individualized instruction aligned to student IEP goals. This teacher will deliver IEP service minutes through both push-in and pull-out services, design individualized instructional plans, and implement targeted academic and behavioral interventions. A significant portion of the role includes supporting K-1 students in developing self-regulation, social-emotional skills, and school-readiness behaviors to ensure successful access to the general education classroom. The successful candidate must be highly organized, knowledgeable in special education compliance, skilled in behavioral interventions, and able to collaborate effectively with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams. The anticipated start date for this position is as soon as possible. The selected candidate will report to the Head of Special Education. Pay and Benefits: Employees at DLS are compensated in accordance with other Denver-area charter schools. The annual salary of $55,000 - $57,555 will be prorated to reflect a mid-year start. 8 days of PTO with an option to roll days to the following school year.
