About The Position

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) is seeking a dedicated educator to join our team. Founded in 1998 and located in Malden, MA, MVRCS serves over 1,750 students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and draw valid conclusions
  • Knowledge of state and federal education regulations and MVRCS policies
  • Collaborative mindset with proven ability to teach, coach, and lead in a team setting
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
  • Successful completion of applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain classroom structure and daily schedules when providing coverage
  • Support positive classroom behavior by applying the 4:1 Ratio of Positive Comments model
  • Deliver instruction aligned with Direct Instruction and Core Knowledge curricula
  • Document daily lessons and student progress; submit weekly reports to the Professional Development Coordinator
  • Record and report successes and challenges of Core Knowledge lessons weekly
  • Participate in professional development, grade-level team meetings, Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) meetings, and staff meetings
  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
  • Implement required classroom modifications and complete all necessary special education documentation
  • Prepare four progress reports and four report cards annually for assigned students
  • Conduct four parent-teacher conferences each school year (two in fall, two in spring)
  • Participate in key school events, including Back to School Night, open houses, Holiday Performance, and Senior Luncheon
  • Fulfill assigned supervisory duties (morning, lunch/recess, and dismissal)
  • Support, enforce, and adhere to all school policies and procedures
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Teacher
