About The Position

The K-12 Program Associate will support the national Gold Award program by providing structured facilitation and change management support to groups of Girl Scout staff and volunteers as they engage with new national guidance that redefines program culture and establishes shared norms for council operations. This role is designed for a skilled facilitator who can help Girl Scout council staff and volunteers build shared understanding, navigate change, and translate national direction into consistent, practical application across local contexts. The K-12 Program Associate will report to the Director, K-12 Program.

Requirements

  • Program Development Expertise: Functional understanding of, and enthusiasm for ongoing learning in, K–12 education and youth development; experience implementing nonformal education programs; and familiarity with or interest in Girl Scouts’ Highest Awards.
  • Convening Skills: Ability to design and facilitate engaging convenings that bring together diverse groups, ensure all voices are heard, and move participants toward alignment and shared understanding.
  • Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated openness to feedback and direction, a collaborative work style, and a strong commitment to collective outcomes.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to plan, track, and manage details across multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to multiple audiences.
  • Design Skills: Ability to create clear, engaging presentations and materials that are easy to understand
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to analyze, organize, and synthesize information to support decision making and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead virtual convenings in collaboration with Director, ranging from monthly cohort meetings to national gatherings, that promote shared understanding of national guidance, peer learning, and practical problem-solving.
  • Apply change management strategies to support Girl Scout staff and volunteers through evolving expectations, addressing questions, readiness levels, and implementation challenges.
  • Synthesize insights, questions, and feedback from cohort engagement to inform continuous improvement of national Gold Award program resources and supports.
  • Collaborate as part of the national K-12 Program team to ensure alignment, consistency, and coordinated support for all stakeholders.
