About The Position

Welcome to Connections for Kids! Connections for Kids is one of Maine's leading mental health agencies and for 26 years has been making a difference in the lives of children and families! Kittery Academy & Kittery Kids' Academy is a private special education school that blends behavioral support services with education for 10 students who have a mental health diagnosis that includes conduct disorders, anxiety and PTSD. As a Student Support Specialist (Behavioral Health Professional / BHP) for Connections for Kids you'll work alongside teachers, licensed clinicians and other school personnel to provide instructional support and teach behavioral management skills for our small group of students. This is a full time, school year position with time off for school vacation weeks and includes a 6 week summer program between July and August.

Requirements

• At least 90 college credits (3 years of college) REQUIRED.
• Have a valid driver's license with proof of auto insurance.
• Possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students with mental health diagnoses.
• Teach behavioral management skills to students.
• Collaborate with teachers and licensed clinicians.
• Support a small group of students in a private special education setting.
