About The Position

The JV High School Boys Basketball Coach's major responsibility is to support the head coach in ensuring players, equipment, and facilities are well organized. The employee is expected to be a Christian with an authentic and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ, dedicated to Christian education, and fully aligned with GCA’s Statement of Faith and Employee Covenant. This role involves demonstrating Christian discipleship, leading student-athletes to become Christ-like leaders, managing all aspects of JV boys basketball, training and supervising student athletes, instructing them on strategies, assisting with off-season engagement and event preparation, and maintaining professional relationships with student-athletes, parents, school staff, and community partners.

Requirements

• The employee is a Christian with an authentic and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ in both their professional and personal life with a calling and commitment to Christian education
• Dedicated to the mission of Christian education and are fully aligned with GCA’s Statement of Faith and Employee Covenant
• Minimum three (3) years of basketball experience at the high school varsity or college level
• Must be self-motivated and have a passion for basketball
• Must be goal-oriented and exceptional follow-through abilities
• Ability to build rapport and foster relationships
• Ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Christian discipleship and lead student-athletes to become Christ-like leaders
