About The Position

The Baseball Coach is responsible for leading, instructing, and mentoring student-athletes in a positive, safe, and competitive environment. The coach will develop players’ skills, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and uphold the values and standards of the athletic program and school community.

Requirements

• Prior baseball coaching or playing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, rules, and strategies
• Ability to work positively with student-athletes of varying skill levels
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to promote teamwork, character development, and sportsmanship

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct organized, age-appropriate practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and teamwork
• Teach fundamental and advanced baseball skills, including hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, and game strategy
• Prepare the team for games and manage in-game coaching decisions
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, discipline, and effort
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes at practices and games
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, assistant coaches, and the Athletic Director
• Maintain attendance, equipment, and practice/game schedules
• Follow all school, league, and athletic department policies and procedures
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes
• Support the academic expectations and behavioral standards of the school
