About The Position

The South Amboy School District is seeking a JV/Assistant Softball Coach for the 2025-2026 school year. The position is part of the athletics and activities department and will involve coaching responsibilities for the junior varsity softball team. The season is scheduled to run from March 9, 2026, to May 29, 2026, pending tournament qualification. The rate of pay for this position is $4,377 per season, subject to contract negotiations. The selection process will continue until a candidate is appointed, and the successful candidate will be eligible for the district's benefits package.

Requirements

• Experience in coaching softball at the high school level or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of the game and coaching techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a head coach or assistant coach.
• Certification in first aid and CPR.
• Knowledge of sportsmanship and ethical coaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coaching the junior varsity softball team.
