About The Position

The Juvenile Victim Offender Mediator will work collaboratively with the juvenile victims and offenders in order to create a safe, controlled environment to develop a plan to address the harm caused by the crime. Our growth allows us to expand and develop new and innovative programs to meet the ever-changing needs of those we serve. We offer unique and personalized services for families and individuals in four areas: Prevention/Intervention, Positive Youth Development, Out-of-Home-Placement and Reunification/Permanency. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
Must be knowledgeable of mediation practices and principles
Training, education, and experience related to the following:
Family facilitation, mediation, and/or conflict resolution
Strengths-based assessment and planning
Communication and ability to relate to diverse groups and manage interpersonal conflict
Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs
Must be open and willing to work non-traditional work hours
Must be able to embrace working as a diverse team both effectively and respectfully with persons of any background, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, ability, national origin, or culture
Provide excellent internal and external customer service
Must possess good verbal, listening, and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license
Reliable personal transportation
Good driving record
Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,00/$300,000 bodily injury liability

Responsibilities

Make contact with victims and offenders separately to explain the mediation process and solicit participation.
Arrange and facilitate mediation between victim and offender.
Provide a summary of the meeting and complete required documentation including monthly reports and case notes.
Perform all duties in accordance with personnel policies and fiscal guidelines
