Responsibilities

  • Initiate contact with youth, families, victims, and law enforcement upon receiving referrals.
  • Conduct home and school visits as part of the information gathering process.
  • Obtain and review collateral information related to the youth's history and needs.
  • Conduct and document various screenings to assess risk and needs of the youth.
  • Formulate case management strategies based on assessments and information gathered.
  • Make service referrals to appropriate providers and follow up on actions needed.
  • Make supervision and treatment recommendations to judicial partners.
  • Complete necessary screening instruments and reports for the Department and courts.
  • Act as the DJJ representative during court hearings and prepare related documentation.
  • Testify at hearings and prepare affidavits for violations of probation.
