About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in social or behavioral sciences or a related field.
  • Two years of paid experience working with high-risk youth, or five years of Juvenile Probation Officer experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluent bilingual Spanish/English skills, with a requirement to pass a fluency assessment.
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check and a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional juvenile case management and supervision under close supervision.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices supported by research data to achieve identified outcomes.
  • Conduct intake assessments to inform clients of Juvenile Department processes and assess their needs, strengths, and risk levels.
  • Develop, monitor, and update case plans that address the needs and strengths of clients.
  • Provide cognitive restructuring, skill development, emotional regulation, and behavior modification interventions using the EPICS model.
  • Coordinate with the District Attorney's office for processing cases, referrals, and violations.
  • Create and maintain timely case records and documents using approved software.
  • Prepare court orders and present case information and recommendations to the court.
  • Monitor clients for compliance with court-ordered conditions and provide additional case management for non-compliance.
  • Make referrals to the department, Court, OYA, and community programs as necessary.
  • Contact victims to gather restitution information and recommend amounts to the court.
  • Participate in staffing regarding clients at local schools and agencies.
  • Provide feedback on program development, policies, and procedures.
