This level supervises Juvenile Probation and Aftercare Specialists, responsible for directly providing community supervision and support to youth in compliance with the terms of court-imposed conditions of probation, aftercare, or pre-adjudication supervision. Work includes overseeing and reviewing the work of staff in regularly applying advanced case management principles and practices, as well as using motivational interviewing and a trauma-informed approach, when working with clients and their families. In addition to work performed at the Juvenile Probation and Aftercare Specialist III level, employees perform and supervise juvenile probation and aftercare work, resolve escalated issues, and ensure the proper training and development of staff.
