This position is an on-call position with night and weekend hours. Job Purpose and Objectives: The Juvenile Intake and Assessment Worker Provide 24 hour per day uniform assessment strategies and least restrictive placement options for youth as set out by use of an assessment tool and the KDAI (Kansas Detention Assessment Instrument) adopted by the Kansas Supreme Court. Placement decisions shall take into account the best interest of the youth, the family unit, and public safety; least restrictive placement guidelines; and available community resources. All placements shall adhere to the criteria for the detention of youth as set out in the KDAI. Facilitate the exchange of information regarding the youth served among cooperating entities. Provide emergency crisis intervention and referrals for the youth and family for additional services recommended by the MASYI II. Temp. Part-time Intake Workers must complete 20 hours of continuing education annually.
