Clay County juvenile detention staff will firstly provide safety and security of each resident in the juvenile detention center by always enforcing all policies and procedures. The juvenile detention staff members work with some degree of independence while ensuring each juvenile’s basic needs are met and completing duties such as kitchen and laundry duties, administering medications, supervision of and managing daily living of the residents while resolving problems and communicating clearly. This position requires someone with excellent communication skills, able to effectively use conflict resolution solutions, be a team player, and trained in CPR. Additionally, for a Youth Specialist position the candidate will need to have earned a high school diploma or equivalent. And a Deputy Juvenile Officer will have earned a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
