The Department of Corrections, Division of Probation and Parole is hiring for the position of Justice Program Supervisor. This position will be responsible for supervising the Probation and Parole Training Department.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional experience in any operation or program within the field of corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice administration, juvenile justice, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the supervision and implementation of all staff and programs within the administrative branch to ensure economical and efficient operations.
  • Ensures compliance with branch's budget.
  • Creates, reviews, and updates training curriculum to ensure that it is in compliance with policy and procedure.
  • Communicates with Probation and Parole Districts to ensure appropriate training is complete and equipment needs are met.
  • Authorizes overtime and leave, recommends salary increases, as well as promotions and evaluations of the performance of subordinates.
  • Analyzes branch operations and recommends policy and procedural changes to increase operating efficiency.
  • Requests subordinates to research and compile administrative reports as needed.
  • Compiles reports as needed and oversees the maintenance of all branch operating records and reports.
  • Coordinates branch training activities.
  • Reviews supervisory subordinate's recommendations for disciplinary action, as well as investigates and takes appropriate measures consistent with laws, regulations, and policies and procedures.
  • Serves on inter or intra agency task forces or committees as assigned.
