Magna Legal Services is seeking a Jury Consultant to perform a variety of tasks associated with jury-related litigation consulting. This role involves conducting mock trials, moderating focus groups, and performing online jury research. The consultant will also engage in community attitude surveys, witness preparation, voir dire, demographic profiling, and reporting, among other related litigation consulting services. The position requires excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, as the consultant will work collaboratively with both the research team and clients. Additionally, the consultant will partner with the sales team to close deals for jury consulting projects, taking ownership of projects from intake to delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of reliable research methods and have keen insights into human behavior, motivation, and decision-making heuristics. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with exceptional writing, speaking, and presentation abilities. The role requires performing research and confident consulting, including making strategic recommendations to clients. Candidates should have exceptional skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis, leveraging their professional experience as primary tools in their work. Knowledge of social science research methodology is crucial for success in this position. In terms of pretrial duties, the consultant will be responsible for mock trials, focus group moderation, online jury research, community attitude surveys, witness preparation, voir dire, and demographic profiling. During trial duties, the consultant will engage in shadow juries, jury selection, juror social media and public records research, trial monitoring, strategic consulting, and visual communication consulting. A graduate degree (Ph.D. and/or Master's) in psychology or a related field, such as neuroscience or communication, is preferred, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field for those interested in a senior-level consultant position. While a law degree is not required, a solid understanding of the civil legal process, procedures, and terminology is essential. Client development skills are also beneficial for this role.
