About The Position

The purpose of this position is to handle campus card, cash, credit, and various other transactions for students, Sodexo employees, GCU Staff and visitors. Accurately operate the cash register/POS and complete transactions. Provide support to the retail operation which includes setup, maintaining supplies and products, and assisting in cleanup and closedown

  • Must be available to work all shifts but especially nights and weekends
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
  • You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a cash register
  • Accurate ring of proper PLU for sale items and accurate barcode scan
  • Provide the highest quality of customer service at all times.
  • Maintain proper security of cash at all times
  • Understand and follow Sodexo cash-handling policies and procedures
  • Assist in locating, reconciling and verifying the accuracy of transactions
  • Prepare for food service which could include wiping down counters, using a microwave, prepping veggies, and handling hot foods.
  • Setup and stock the beverage coolers, grab n go items, service ware and condiments.
  • Setup stations with entrees, soups, salads, breads, and any other food products
  • Replenish all the above items as needed
  • Clean, and sanitize all workstations, counters, tables and any other equipment
  • Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training
  • Comply with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures
  • Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • Report all accidents or injuries in a timely manner
  • Participate in regular in-store huddles
  • Maintain inventory, stock and requisitions
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
