  • 3 to 5 years of prior mortgage loan processing experience including experience with web based automated underwriting systems, loan origination systems and working with correspondent lenders preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed current production standards for a Junior Underwriter
  • Review new file submissions and ensure accuracy in data and documentation.
  • Review credit worthiness, assets, income, sale contracts, appraisal, title and supporting documents in accordance with agency and/or investor guidelines.
  • Underwriting assignments daily to allocate work flow among underwriting team.
  • Prioritize workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain or exceed established timeframes for workflow.
  • Maintain spreadsheets for LTC file submission quality and completeness.
  • Tracking of rush files for re-submissions to provide feedback to Processing manager.
  • Suspense file management to ensure timely actions taken on suspended loans.
  • Work closely with Underwriters, loan transaction coordinators and processors to find solutions as needed.
  • Perform due diligence on all borrowers, their employment and subject property and investigate loan file for any fraudulent activity.
  • Pre-Underwrite all modification files and review for follow up submissions and final CTC.
  • Assist post-closing with any additional documentation or clarification required by investor at purchase.
  • Actively participate and advocate the bank’s training and development programs and commitment to learning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle delicate situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Adaptability and Candor: You will be working with some of the newest technology in the mortgage industry. As it evolves, we will ask you for your feedback to improve our products.
  • Maintains strong knowledge and understanding of Agency and Investor requirements along with compliance issues.
  • Responsible for following company policies and procedures as directed. Never employ workarounds to procedures or policies
  • Be relentlessly resourceful in finding answers.
  • All other duties as assigned.
