About The Position

Nira is hiring Transmission Planning Engineers to join the product team comprised of half planning engineers and half software engineers. In this role, you'll work with other planning engineers and software engineers to build products that help renewable developers put together successful project portfolios. Specifically, you'll focus on deepening and expanding your transmission planning and generator interconnection studies subject matter expertise, receiving mentorship from senior transmission planning engineers in the NYC office. You will work with software engineers and product managers to codify your domain knowledge into Nira's software products' backend. Additionally, you will support the full product life cycle including product ideation, research and development, coding, sales support, customer support, and product maintenance.

Requirements

• Experience with generation interconnection related studies.
• 6 months+ experience with tools like TARA, PSS/E, Power World, Python, etc.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Motivated by ownership in work and initiative on projects.
• Willingness to perform various tasks to advance the mission and provide customer value.
• Desire to improve software engineering skills.
