This job is primarily responsible for the execution of positions created by others. Responsibilities include processing a variety of complexities for various commodities simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 year's related Trading experience.
  • Working knowledge of the entire commodity life cycle; from producer to consumer.
  • Working knowledge of the basics of commodity transportation entering and exiting an elevator.
  • Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
  • Excellent consultative skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tactics to best execute trading positions.
  • Maintain and develop sales opportunities while adhering to credit, quality, and cash risk limits; monitor national and international markets as well as negotiate price, specification, and delivery details.
  • Negotiate price/delivery, write up logistical documents, contracts, applications, hedging transactions, and final settlements; adhering to trading and risk position limits.
  • Gather and report on actionable information on crop and growing conditions, commodity movement, market, freight and logistical situations and trends throughout the world.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with customers, third party vendors, and end users to improve and expand origination and sales.
  • Communicate market trends and information to regional staff; ensuring timely and quality market information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
